Save the date! Nonseq is thrilled to announce the imminent release of its second CD, titled "The SEQuel!", the fruit of 3 semesters worth of effort, creativity, and dedication. To be one of the first to get your hands on this gem of an album, come to our spring concert, ¡Seq-o de Mayo!, 9:30pm in Lerner C555.
Yup, you heard right! John Walters from NBC Sports did a piece on the competitive world of collegiate a cappella and Nonsequitur was one of the groups featured in the article. Here's the SparkNotes version: We're an ethnically diverse group that will melt your face with "Sweet Child o' Mine."
If you're that kid in class who always does all the reading, the full article can be found here: http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/23591387/
Or maybe you're the one who rents the movie the night before the exam instead: http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/22825103/vp/23631561#23631561
After a tough quarterfinal round at the 2008 ICCAs in Hartford, CT, Nonseq is thrilled to come home with a hard-fought 4th place finish! Better yet, our very own Whitney Green won the Best Vocal Percussionist award!! While we won't be moving on to the semifinals, we're looking forward to next year's competition, and we're very satisfied with the accolades we received!
On February 23rd, Nonseq heads off to scenic Hartford, CT, to compete in the quarterfinals of the 2008 International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella. Want to cheer us on, pledge your undying love, or donate your firstborn to the cause? Post on our Groupies page!
Come to Nonsequitur's final concert of the semester! It will be held on Saturday, December 8 at 9pm in the Wien Lounge, and cuBHANGRA will be performing during the intermission. A $2 donation is suggested to help cover the costs of recording our CD, which will be released next semester. If you don't have a CUID, talk to one of our members or email nonsequitur@columbia.edu to get on the guest list. Hope to see you there!

Come one and come all to Nonseq's Fall Auditions!! If you've ever had the urge to sing with a great group of people and be a part of something special, drop by our room in Hamilton Hall, grab some candy, and sing a song for us! All levels of experience and voice parts are strongly encouraged to attend. Questions, concerns, or just want to introduce yourself? Email us at nonsequitur@columbia.edu
Congratulations to Sarah, Ilana, Julia, Elena and Adam on their graduations from Barnard and Columbia Colleges. We will miss you next year and can't wait to see you sitting in the audiences at future concerts as Nonseq alumni!
Mad props are also due to our newly elected executive board for the 2007-2008 school year: President Poonam Pai, Business Manager Matthew Thier and Treasurer Anne Epstein. We are excited to see where their leadership will take our group next year!
Thanks to everyone who joined us for our spring concert! We debuted five brand new songs, performed many other Nonseq classics, and said goodbye to our five seniors. C555 was packed to brim as usual with our fans, friends and family, and because of their support we raised over $200 for the Center for Anti-Violence Education in support of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Thanks to all you who came and shared this special night with us!
Last night at the annual Kings Crown Leadership Awards Dinner, Nonsequitur was named the WINNER of The Promise Award for being the student organization with the best potential for positive impact on the Columbia campus!! We are so thrilled to have gotten this award, especially because we are the first a cappella group to have received such an honor. We even received a big plaque for it! To be a part of the group and help us fulfill our promise, come to auditions next fall!
